Nick Konidaris
President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Konidaris was elected to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer in January of 2004 and brings more than 25 years of experience in technology companies, primarily from Advantest America and Teradyne, to his role. At Advantest America, he was responsible for leading all U.S. operations, including sales and marketing, research and development, and supply chain management. He joined Advantest America in 1993, and became president and chief executive officer of the company in 1997. Prior to Advantest America, while at Teradyne, he held senior marketing management positions in several divisions. Currently, Mr. Konidaris serves on the board of directors for Ultratech, Inc., and on the advisory board for the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute (ONAMI). He is also on the board of directors for the Oregon Business Council. Mr. Konidaris holds a degree in electrical and mechanical engineering from National Technical University in Athens, Greece, and an MBA from MIT.






Paul Oldham
Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Administration, Corporate Secretary

Mr. Oldham joined ESI in January of 2008, bringing nearly twenty years of financial management experience from Tektronix Inc.—recently acquired by Danaher Corporation—where he held several senior leadership positions including vice president finance and corporate controller, European operations controller, and most recently vice president treasurer and investor relations. Mr. Oldham earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting and Masters of Business Administration from Brigham Young University in Utah.






Robert M. DeBakker
Vice President, Operations

In September 2004, Mr. DeBakker was named Vice President of Operations at ESI. He is a 25-year veteran of the high-technology industry. His experience ranges from early growth start-ups to large, multi-national organizations where he has been at the forefront of many of the industry's most significant technology innovations and transitions. Prior to joining ESI, Mr. DeBakker was an executive at IBM Corporation for six years. While there, he was Vice President of WW xSeries Supply Chain Operations and managed an end-to-end global supply chain in five countries. Prior positions within IBM included Vice President of i/p series and Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain Strategy. From 1988 to 1999, Mr. DeBakker worked for Sequent Computer Systems where he spearheaded the growth of the company from a small niche player to a global $1B company, with a focus on the deployment of world-class supply chain processes. His earlier experience includes Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain positions with Intel Corporation, Mentor Graphics Corporation, and NASA. Mr. DeBakker earned his bachelor’s degree (with honors) in Supply Chain/Logistics from the University of Tennessee.






Kerry Mustoe
Vice President, Corporate Controller, & Chief Accounting Officer

Ms. Mustoe joined ESI in September of 2003 as Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer and was later named Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer in January of 2007. Her seventeen years of industry experience have been concentrated in the high-technology arena working for companies that included Sequent Computer Systems, RadiSys, and FEI, where she was Director of Finance and Treasury. Prior to her career in high-technology, Ms. Mustoe was an Audit Manager and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Portland, Oregon.






Louis Vintro
Vice President & General Manager, Semiconductor Products Division

Mr. Vintro joined ESI in May 2009, and brought with him over 18 years of experience in technical business management positions. Most recently, he was at KLA-Tencor, Corp. where he served as Senior Director of Technical Programs in the Surfscan Division. Prior to his role at KLA, Mr. Vintro was the Global Business Manager for BOC Edwards (now Applied Materials, Inc./Semiconductor Fab Services). He has also worked for Vitria Technology, Inc., Alcatel Vacuum Inc./ MEMS Process Equipment, and A.T. Kearney, Inc./High Tech & Electronics Practice. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Physics from MIT, an MBA from Wharton School, and a PhD in Physics from Stanford University.






Jeff Albelo
General Manager, Interconnect & Micromachining Division

Mr. Albelo joined ESI in 2005 as a Product Group Director, a position he held in various capacities, until his promotion to General Manager in 2009. Prior to his tenure at ESI, Mr. Albelo held a variety of posts including sales management, technology development, product management and an array of engineering roles. In addition to these, he was a very active consultant for a diverse collection of energy and semiconductor companies. He also founded and incubated a pharmaceutical start-up. Over the course of his 16 year career in high tech, Mr. Albelo has held positions at Mitsubishi, Applied Materials, AZ Electronic Materials, Tokyo Ohka Kogyo (TOK), Hewlett Packard, and AVI BioPharma. His academic focus includes Chemistry, Physics, and Electrical Engineering, and he is presently pursuing an MBA at Cornell's Johnson School of Management. He has authored numerous technical papers, published peer-reviewed content and delivered a dozen technical conference keynote addresses. He has five patents and has a number of pending patent applications.






Sean Phillips
General Manager, Component, Test & Inspection Division

Mr. Phillips was appointed General Manager of the Component Test and Inspection Division in January 2009. He joined the company in January 2001, and has held leadership positions including Director of the Electronic Component Solutions Group, Director of Strategic Sales, and Strategic Sales Manager for the Semiconductor Products Group. Mr. Phillips has held product group and sales leadership positions throughout his 20-year career in the high-technology industry. He previously worked at Microscan Systems Incorporated as the Vice President of Marketing as well as at Spectra Physics, where he pioneered the adoption of laser scanning technology in the Asia Pacific Region. Mr. Phillips earned his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry at Indiana University and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Oregon.






Pei Hsien Fang
Vice President, New Wave Research Division

Mr. Fang was named Vice President of New Wave Research Division in July 2007, when his company was acquired by ESI. Mr. Fang had been Chairman and CEO of New Wave Research since 2002, in addition to being one of its original founders. Prior to New Wave Research, Mr. Fang cultivated 12 years of engineering, field sales and marketing experience by working for high-technology companies. He began his career in 1978, when he joined National Semiconductor for two years as a Design Engineer. From 1978 to 1986, he held field sales and marketing positions at Hewlett Packard, where he evolved from being a Design Engineer to a Field Engineer and later became a Field Marketing Manager. Thereafter, he joined Metrotech in 1986 as an International Sales Manager and eventually was hired by Fora Incorporated in 1989 as their Director of Sales. Mr. Fang is a graduate of San Jose State University where he received a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1978. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.






Sidney Wong
Vice President, Customer Operations

Mr. Wong was promoted to the position of Vice President of Customer Operations at ESI in May 2009, after having served as Senior Director of Sales for over a year. He joined the company in May 1998 from Giga-tronics. During his tenure at ESI, Mr. Wong has held a variety of positions including director of sales and service and, most recently, senior director of marketing. He has propelled ESI to achieve record revenues, all the while traveling extensively in order to maintain ESI’s high standard of customer relations. Mr. Wong previously worked for Hewlett-Packard, and began his career at Philips HK Ltd. Mr. Wong holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Communication Engineering from the University of Kent in England.






Bob Hainsey
Director, Research & Development

Dr. Hainsey was appointed Director of Research and Development at ESI in February 2009. He joined the company in January 1998 from Intel Corporation where he held technology leadership positions in such areas as phase shift mask development and transistor patterning. At ESI, he has held a number of technical and managerial positions researching new application spaces and developing new laser technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.






Tracey Jerijervi
Director, Human Resources

Ms. Jerijervi joined ESI in April of 2007 as Director of Human Resources. With over 20 years of industry experience, she has held a number of senior human resource leadership positions within high tech companies such as RadiSys and Tektronix. Ms. Jerijervi graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor's of science degree.






Paul Rex
Director, Customer Support

Mr. Rex was appointed as the head of ESI’s Customer Support division in February 2009, bringing over 20-years of service experience to the role. He joined the company in April 2005 from Applied Materials’ Ion Implant Division where he held a number of different management positions in Japan, Taiwan and Europe. Prior to this, he worked for Philips Medical Systems in the radiotherapy group. Mr. Rex earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Cambridge College of Arts and Technology, and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, both in England.
